Brrr…Offices Closed due to Weather

Due to the historically low temperatures which will be blasting from the Arctic through the midwest this week, both the Chicago and Peoria offices of Ganan & Shapiro will be closed on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 and Thursday, January 31, 2019.  Our attorneys have the capability to work remotely via laptop and cell phone, however, and will be checking their emails on a regular basis throughout the day. We expect to be fully operational again on Friday, February 1, 2019.

It should be noted that Cook County and Lake County, Illinois courts will be closed on January 30 and 31. As for the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, this from their website:

“On behalf of the Chairman, due to severe weather conditions, the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission’s Chicago Office, located at 100 W. Randolph St, Chicago, Illinois will be closed on January 30, 2019.

Please be advised that because of the closure, that the time for any pleading, process or paper which would expire on January 30, 2019 is extended to January 31, 2019.

All matters set for January 30, 2019 in Chicago will be continued to a date that will be determined by the IWCC, and notices will be sent out, accordingly.

The Chicago Office may remain closed on January 31, 2019 should the severe weather conditions remain.  Should the Chicago Office remain closed on January 31, the time for any pleading, process or paper will be extended to February 1, 2019.  We will send out electronic notices and update our website when information becomes available.”

Everyone stay safe and warm this week!

Ganan & Shapiro, P.C.
